Pid 515-Pinta-Collector-Ship--30

The Pinta in model form

The Pinta, the other caravel on Columbus's Voyage is very curious. She was a square rigged caravel. It is disputed, but she was apparently built in 1441. She was wrecked in 1501 in a voyage to the Carribean. She has not been found as far as I know but her wreck may have been found near Hispaniola (modern day Haiti) on June 6th 1981. Her true name is unknown but is likely it was called the Santa Clara.
